🤖 AI Up-Skilling Journey | Experiment 1: Generating Images with Gemini and storing them Notion

🎯 Goal:

Excited to share an experiment where we (AI and me) automated the process of generating and embedding AI-created images directly into Notion pages using Rube Recipes and Gemini AI.

🗺️ Architecture

By leveraging Rube’s MCP platform, we connected with Notion and orchestrated a workflow that:

1. Takes a visual prompt

2. Generates an image through Gemini and

3. Uploads it seamlessly to a specific file property in Notion.

➕ This workflow offers a low-complexity, high-value solution for integrating AI-generated visuals within project documentation and collaboration tools.
➕ One standout feature was how easily Rube Recipes could be called through OpenAI’s Agent Builder, enabling simple programmatic triggers.
➕ Beyond saving time, this approach opens opportunities to enrich Notion pages creatively and efficiently.
➕ Key considerations included secure API management, error handling, and content safety, ensuring a robust automation pipeline.

🏁 Outcome

This project will be a key piece in a larger project to generate social media content, including the generation of a visual prompt, which will be used to generate the image and stored in a Notion database.
